I am always hunting something... It's surprising that more husbands don't understand the "hunt" we women yearn for since they like to "hunt" too. I know they are in the woods with guns trying to find animals, and we are at the mall or online hunting either a great deal on some new goodies for the house, a fun bag or piece of jewelry, or something we are convinced the kiddos just can't live without.
But still, it's all "hunting", right?
So, like any great hunter, I am thrilled when I find something worth talking about! And today, I have found it! A great thrift shop/antiquey type place here in little ole Columbus, GA. I'm dedicated to finding these great places and letting you know, because when I moved here, no one seemed to have a clue about where to shop!
The Attic is a little hole in the wall place on Hamilton Rd. It has vendor booths, so the styles and types of things you find are very diverse. Pricing can also be, so you really have to "hunt" for the great stuff (I found two identical items, and one was $1 cheaper.. woo hoo!) I'll share a few great things I found, and what I couldn't leave without!
Set of 3 neato looking glass jars for $12.95 Organization, what? I love!
Pewter Weighted Candleholder for $2.99 and small pitcher
I love to add in older pieces that have patina to them. These would be great in a china cabinet with creamy white dishes, or in a bookshelf to add some richness. Silver or pewter pieces pair well with heavily textured items and create a great juxtaposition!
Fun metal wall decor piece, ready to go! No makeover needed!
Awesome old birdcage and great old black chairs
Sorry for the blurry photo here, but I had to share this! These were probably some of my favorite finds of the day! (So sad the pic didn't turn out!) These old black chairs were great! They were well worn, but still sturdy and the set of 4 was only $40! Deal city! The birdcage was $24.95 - a little pricey for a thrift shop, but I loved it anyways, and it was still way less than I've seen similar pieces going for at retail!
Sweet little desk/vanity. I love older furniture for the smaller scale.
Table with good lines - I would strip it and stain it a little darker. Again, great for small spaces!
Look at all this great stuff!
So, what came home with me?
Glass Cake Stand and Dome (a steal!) $8.99
Wood Cheese Plate and Dome (a splurge) $4.99
Small frame $1.50
Small lidded jar $1.59
The Wood Cheese Plate and Dome was a splurge because I have a certain little project in mind. Go here to preview the DIY pedestal/cloche I'm about to attempt!

Great finds Alison - reminds me of the Angels Antiques here in Auburn/Opelika, they have some killer stuff, but yeah on vendor has something for $10 the next for $20 - a little funny! LOVING the cloche right now, can't wait to see the project
I have never been to the Attic..I will have to check it out. I love Gina's Junk on Buena Vista and there is a little shop called the vintage years...the sweetest lady runs it up in Bibb city off of 2nd street. Worth a pop in :)
