Basement Office Project

As most of you know we moved into a new (for us) house recently. Well, with unpacking and getting things rolling, I have not had much time to write posts! I am getting back on top of things, and the boxes are dwindling, so I thought I'd share a few photos of my new basement office, which is turning out better than expected!!

Don't mind the furry friends with demon eyes!
Now, keep in mind there will be a sleeper sofa in between those end tables in place of the dog at some point in the (hopefully) near future. And, keep in mind this is a work in progress, but I couldn't help but share it!

Here's a little before shot for you...

This is actually a double before/after. Not only did I make over this corner of the basement, I made over a $5 yard sale find!

This was used to display cigarettes in retail stores looooong ago!
I found this shelving unit at a yard sale for $5. Can you believe it?!?!?! The thrifiting gods were looking down on me that day! I actually got really lucky and the guy even delivered it for me! For free! Can't beat that deal! I cleaned it up really good, and used a scraper to get the stickers off. It's laminated, but I figured for $5 plus a few $.94 cans of black spray paint from Wal-mart, we might as well just see what we can get. And, TA-DA! Success!

A little sneak peek at my new sewing area...

$20 Craigslist table and the guy threw the black nightstand in for free since he was clearing out a storage unit and moving out of town! Score! Ikea rails with hooks and buckets and the black shelf is from Lowes. I know the pictures are dark and bad quality since I took them with my phone, but when I get it all set up, I'll work on better lighting (this is a basement after all) and take some great pictures!

For now, I hope you enjoy my before and afters this week!

Fabulous Finds: Thrift Shop

Scavengers

Hi everyone!! Sorry for the serious lack of posts lately, but I am still. unpacking. boxes. Ugh.

A much needed break was just the answer, so I loaded up the kids and the sister-in-law and we road tripped it down to Destin for the weekend. It was just. the. ticket. Ok, I'll stop with the wierd periods now... but really, it was awesome. I got to relax and spend some time laying on the beach and getting to know some other awesome Ranger Wives!

On the drive in I noticed this place that looked like thrift shop heaven. Since I had some very excited people in my car (excited for the beach and pool, NOT thrifting) I thought I would spare them and check it out later, and boy was I glad I did!

This place was not really a thrift shop at all. It was a great little place with vendor booths, but prices were more like retail. The stuff was cute though! Here's some eye candy for ya...

and if you ever find yourself on the Gulf Coast near Destin, FL, you should stop by!

Loved the fish!

I am so going out to find an old door tomorrow!

I loved this little cart!

Incredible lamp... just not an incredible price or it sooo would have come home with me!
